Shannon J. Turley, PhD, is a leader in immunology research known for her work on cancer, the tumor microenvironment, and stromal biology. She earned her PhD in Cell Biology from Yale University, carried out postdoctoral research at Joslin Diabetes Center, and later served as an associate professor at Harvard Medical School and a principal investigator at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where she studied how immune responses are initiated and regulated in cancer and autoimmunediseases. Dr. Turley subsequently joined Genentech, where she first served as Vice President of Cancer Immunology Research and later as Vice President of Immunology, Regenerative Medicine and Ophthalmology Research and led programs in immunology, oncology, and fibrosis. She currently serves as Vice President and Co-Head of Research Biology at Amgen, overseeing discovery programs in oncology, immunology and rare disease. She is also a member of the National Academy of Sciences.
